Job Description

Adecco is assisting a hardware warehouse for an upcoming Truck Driving position in Halethorpe/Baltimore, MD. The Driver is responsible for transporting goods from one location to another, ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires adherence to traffic laws, safe driving practices, and company policies. Apply now if you meet the qualifications listed below!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport Goods: Safely and efficiently transport goods to designated locations.

  • Inspect Vehicles: Conduct regular inspections of the truck to ensure it is in good working condition, including checking tire pressure, oil levels, and overall vehicle maintenance.

  • Load and Unload Cargo: Assist with loading and unloading goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of the cargo.

  • Maintain Logs: Keep accurate records of driving hours, deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

  • Plan Routes: Determine the most efficient routes for delivery, considering factors such as traffic conditions, weather, and delivery schedules.

  • Adhere to Safety Standards: Follow all safety regulations and guidelines, including proper use of safety equipment and adherence to legal driving limits.

  • Communicate Effectively: Maintain clear and professional communication with dispatchers, customers, and other team members.

  • Handle Documentation: Manage necessary paperwork related to deliveries, including bills of lading, receipts, and delivery confirmations.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license with appropriate endorsements.

  • Clean driving record with no recent traffic violations.

  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

  • Knowledge of applicable traffic laws and regulations.

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).

  • DOT Card may be required.

Work Environment:

  • This position requires extensive travel and long hours on the road.

  • Work may involve overnight trips and irregular schedules, including weekends and holidays.

  • The job may involve exposure to varying weather conditions and requires adherence to safety protocols.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.

  • Physical strength and stamina to handle cargo and perform vehicle inspections.

  • Visual acuity and hearing ability necessary for safe driving and effective communication.

Pay Details: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour
