We seek a highly motivated individual to join our productive team at the UCLA Center for Cancer Prevention and Control Research (CPCR) as a project coordinator. Our team is located on the University of California Los Angeles campus in Westwood and performs health systems and population health research to improve the uptake of cancer screening. The project coordinator's primary responsibilities will be related to a recently funded National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Cancer Institute (NCI) R01 award that aims to evaluate an intervention in a federally qualified health center that aims to increase rates of follow-up after abnormal cancer screening results. The intervention uses patient and provider education, electronic health record optimization, and patient navigation to increase uptake of care. The multidisciplinary research team includes experts in public health, clinical medicine, implementation science, qualitative research methods, statistics, and cost-effectiveness. The project coordinator will manage research activities that include: qualitative interviews; quantitative data collection from medical records; intervention implementation; maintaining detailed and accurate documentation of all research project activities; developing agendas, presentations and supporting documentation for research team meetings; maintaining all necessary UCLA IRB approvals; drafting progress and annual reports required by the funding agency; and actively participating in the development of presentations and manuscripts for academic and community audiences. This individual will be imbedded in our active and collegial research center comprised of UCLA faculty in epidemiology, health services research, and implementation science in addition to junior team members, undergraduate students and graduate students from the UCLA schools of medicine and public health. Additional opportunities in this position will include authoring papers, training and experience in grant preparation, and participation in other research projects as needed in our Center. The individual will also have full access to several mentors and field experts in the schools of public health and medicine.
