Job Description
One of gpac's client is looking to add a litigation paraleagal OR a litigation legal assistant to their team! The ideal candidate will have experience in a high-volume litigation role and is open to working with multiple attorneys at once.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Assist attorneys in the preparation of legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, motions, subpoenas, and discovery-related materials.
* Conduct legal research and analysis on relevant laws, regulations, and legal articles to assist in case preparation.
* Manage and organize case files and documents electronically and ensure all case-related materials are up-to-date.
* Coordinate and assist with the discovery process, including the collection, review, and production of documents; prepare deposition summaries and trial binders.
* Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and external agencies to schedule meetings, hearings, depositions, and trials.
* Monitor deadlines and maintain the calendar for case-related activities.
* Provide general administrative support to attorneys as needed, including file management and correspondence.
* Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in commercial litigation.
* Paralegal certificate not required, they want to focus more on the work the paralegal has done.
* Strong understanding of legal concepts, terminology, and processes related to commercial litigation.
* Proficient in legal research databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Preferred Experience:
* Experience with electronic discovery and case management software.
* Familiarity with federal and state court filing systems.
