Benesch is proud to announce the opening for a Legal Support Center Operator in our Cleveland office! This position is hybrid and has work from home flexibility.

Position Summary :

Our Cleveland office has an amazing opportunity for a Legal Support Center Operator who is looking to utilize their experience and skill set in a variety of areas of practice. This role is perfect for the legal assistant who wants to work with different practice groups, never have the same day twice in a row when it comes to work and assist with different matters. Our Legal Support Center Operators work hand-in-hand with legal assistants and attorneys to provide support in one of the nation's fastest growing law firms and assist litigators in an energetic, fast-paced environment.

The Legal Support Center Operator processes legal documents using various software applications in an accurate and timely manner. This position is required to fill in for legal assistant assignments on an as-needed basis.

Essential Functions:

1. Works proactively in the workflow management system.

2. Reviews instructions to assignments to ensure proper production.

3. Meets requested document deadlines; advises supervisor if deadline is not attainable.

4. Checks assignments for proper supporting materials and information required for processing documents; advises supervisor of potential problems in job request.

5. Revises and formats existing and new documents as well as proofreads for accuracy and completeness.

6. Transmits and/or receives documents via scanning and/or email.

7. Imports documents received through Outlook or workflow management system into iManage.

8. Formats existing and/or new documents (i.e. DocXtools, Styles).

9. Prepares and sends faxes and/or emails.

10. Photocopies documents.

11. Prepares mail/express labels and envelopes for packages.

12. Communicates properly and promptly with BFCA personnel and external contacts at all times and must exhibit a high level of customer service at all times.

13. Provides legal assistant support to assignments including, but not limited to, transcribing dictation, typing correspondence, reports, memoranda and/or other documents (i.e., briefs and other pleadings, wills, closing documents, electronic filing etc.), submitting same for review; revising, proofreading, assembling and distributing prepared material as necessary in an accurate and timely manner.

14. Originates correspondence as directed and assumes other responsibilities including, but not limited to, reviewing and routing incoming correspondence, scheduling appointments, creating and maintaining files and indexes, screening and routing telephone calls, and receiving and directing clients, preparing expense reports, as well as entering timekeepers time as required.

15. Schedules and confirms appointments in a proactive manner.

Additional Responsibilities :

1. Maintains a clean and orderly workstation.

2. Arranges outside courier services for pick up and delivery of packages when necessary.

3. Fills in for various legal assistant assignments on an as-needed basis.

4. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

The Legal Support Center Operator must possess a High School Diploma and prior experience as a legal assistant or word processor in the legal field. A high proficiency in processing legal documents and outstanding proofreading skills are required. Flexibility to work overtime if needed. Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, DocXtools and other programs a plus. Must possess an excellent customer service attitude.
