Here is an opportunity to open a new career door into Early Childhood Education as an Assistant Director working among a team of professionals and supportive families who are passionate about bilingual education.
This candidate will assist the Center Director in being responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and quality of education, for all children within the center's care. The Assistant Director is directly accountable for supporting overall operational management in accordance with well-established guidelines, including curriculum development, staff and facilities management, legal and budgetary considerations, and long range planning.
The right candidate will help facilitate and ensure that the needs of the students and the goals of the center are met appropriately.
Duties - Develop general educational curriculum; collaborate with staff to develop learning activities according to both our curriculum and CLASS;
- Manage adherence to state and local regulations.
- Maintain student records in accordance with established enrollment procedures and state and county guidelines.
- Maintain student portfolios with assessments/ observations in accordance with NECPA accreditations
- Maintain bilingual communications with parents of current and prospective students through direct conversation, newsletters and email
- Implement community outreach activities to maintain and promote positive community relationships.
- Create and approve menus and complete food purchases.
- Maintain positive relationships with regulatory agencies; ensure legal and financial compliance.
- Participate in all office functions including payroll, accounts payable and receivable, tuition billing and payment, human resources and personnel management (staff supervision) and purchasing.
- Resolve conflicts (including corrective action when necessary) to ensure a positive experience for everyone.
- Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
- Maintain training records of staff with internal trainings and supplemental mandatory training online annually 30 hours
- Mentor consistently the professional processes needed to keep up to date in educational programs for Early Childhood
Requirements - Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience.
- 2 years of direct professional experience in an early childhood setting.
- High energy, great front office skills and demeanor
- Detail-oriented and ability to work with Excel worksheets
- Strong oral and written communications skills in English; technology skills.
- Ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and foster a team environment.
- A strong understanding of early childhood development.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- MAT certification
- Must clear full background checks and FBI.
- Must pass health screening, TB, drug screening
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 credits in ECE.
