Behavioral Health Specialist (Sandsprings AFRC)
Position Objective:
The Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) significantly increased the operations and deployments within the Oklahoma National Guard (OKNG) and placed additional strain and requirements on our Service Members (SMs) and their families. Increased deployments and missions locally and around the globe have required SMs to be deployed more frequently, for longer periods, and in high physical and mental stress operations. Additional resources and programs are required to increase the Oklahoma Army National Guard (OKARNG) medical readiness.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Crisis response counseling to service members and/or Units experiencing distress
· Behavioral health assessment, referral, and follow-up clinical case management services
· Short-term, non-medical solution-focused psycho-educational support (up to 3 sessions)
· Wellness Briefings with Units, servicemembers, and Family members
· Guard Leadership consultation as the industry expert on BH concerns/issues
Required Qualifications:
Education: Master’s of Social Work or Counseling degree
Experience: Two years of previous working experience
Certifications/Licenses/Credentials :
· Licensed by a State Board of Social Workers Examiners or equivalent to practice at Licensed Master Social Worker or equivalent.
· Ability to pass a background check.
Proficient in Microsoft office products
Working Knowledge of medical terminology and health care delivery systems
Experience with computerized client management systems
Working knowledge of Army/Air Force medical regulations
Experience working with community agencies
Experience working with military personnel.
Salary: $66,000/yr with medical, dental, vision, Life, STD and LTD paid
